Görlitz
Görlitz: “Germany's easternmost
city”
Owing
to its situation in the tri-state area on the River Neiße, Görlitz
has been shaped by several cultures and monarchies. The hall houses
and the Italian-style covered walks reflect the
former wealth of this patricians' town even today. Our tour
leads from the "Traitors' Lane" at Upper Market to the
"Arch of Whispers" at Lower
Market, and on to the Holy Sepulchre, which you cannot
only see in Jerusalem, but as
an exquisite copy in Görlitz as well.
Time: 8-9 hours
May be combined with a visit to the
Cistercian St. Marienthal Nunnery in Ostritz or to
the United Brethren at Herrnhut.
